  • Oh well, home today. I have to leave my sanctuary, which this cottage will always be to me. I love the birds and the comfort and the welcome from Gill and Tim. See you in September.
    M and G (from Southport), June 2011

  • Heaven on earth is how we would describe the cottage and its setting. The wildlife is fantastic. Great area for places to visit. Can't wait to come again. Thank you for a great holiday.
    L and J (from Liverpool), May 2011

  • We have stayed at many cottages over the years with our dogs and this has to be the most idyllic.  We hope to be back soon.
G and K (from near Blackpool), April 2011

  • A lovely cottage, a real home from home.  Loved coming back to a roaring fire after a long walk.  A little corner of paradise!
    M and S (from Leicester), April 2011
  • Fantastic time (again)!  The location just gets better and better.  Hope to be back in the winter.
A and L (from West Yorkshire), March 2011

  • What an excellent location, peaceful and quiet.  Just what was required for re-charging the batteries.  Great for walking the Lune Valley, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District, along with visiting Leighton Moss RSPB reserve.  The birds in the garden are quite something, and many walks were delayed by watching them.  The cottage is well equipped - hope to get back soon.
A and S (from South Yorkshire), March 2011

  • A fantastic break - the peace - absolute bliss.  Birds were so interesting to watch.  The only downside is having to go back to work.  We'll be working out our next holidays and booking again.
    J and T (from Birkenhead), February 2011

  • A lovely cottage,  has everything in a beautiful location.  We walked along the Lune, went bird watching at Leighton Moss and saw a steam train at Carnforth.  Really loved watching the birds on the feeders.

  • Many thanks for providing such a well equipped cottage, very comfortable and one of the best we've stayed in.
    D and A (from Roecliffe), October 2010

  • An excellent location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, Forest of Bowland and the Lake District.  The cottage has everything you need and is comfy to come home to.  We can recommend the butcher in Hornby and the George and Dragon, Dent, where you receive a warm welcome.  Kirkby Lonsdale has a good selection of shops.
P and M (from Bexhill on Sea), October 2010

  • This was our first stay in this lovely cottage.  It was a relaxing break and the cottage is perfect.  It definitely won't be our last time here.
    J and P (from Keighley), September 2010

  • First time we have holidayed in the area and could not have chosen a nicer cottage.  We hope to be back.
    A and A (from Sherringham), September 2010

  • Our first time here, but just a lovely experience.  A lovely setting and a lovely place to stay.  The cottage is lovely and very homely.  I'm sure we will be back.
    D and B (from Halifax), September 2010

  • What a revelation this part of the country has been.  It knocks spots off the Lakes when it comes to space, countryside and a distinct lack of people.  We have completed lots of walks with absolutely beautiful views.  We have had a brilliant time.
D and E (from County Durham), August 2010

View over the Barbon fells from Locka Old Hall Cottage

  • What a lovely chill-out place.  The cottage, the views, the birds, etc, etc.  We'd never seen woodpeckers and tree creepers before.  We'd love to come back.
    N and C (from Wakefield), August 2010

  • Lovely cottage in a wonderful location.  Great wildlife.  A relaxing week.
